Nomination Day

Whoever said that the citizens of this country were not interested in politics... yesterday was Nomination Day... and I think it has been the buzz topic of the day in every street corner. Just happened to get off work at a decent hour yesterday, and like EVERYONE around me, was trying to get hold of a copy of the paper so as to see the nominations!

Kudos to the opposition for finally being able to field more than half the seats, and for having sorted out their differences and avoiding a three way fight. I am finally interested in attending some rallies this time round. Just think it would be interesting to hear about the topics of concern from both the ruling party and the opposition. Never since JC GP lessons have I been so interested in our little country's political environment.

Hmmm... wonder if the turn out this year will be an indication of things to come? After all, we do seem to be getting a high number of young candidates on both sides this time round... mayhaps, we are paying more attention to our environment after all?

A Long Absence

So... I've kind of disappeared... well, there were various reasons for this... first, coz I realized that people I did not quite desire were reading my site... Second, well, was really qutie busy, first with the clean up room project, and the Hong Kong trip (Gee.. wish I could have stayed longer).

Anyhows, it has been two weeks at work already... and I've managed to chalk up two entire days of chargeable overtime... so, I really cannot be blamed for not posting anything up... Plus, my client's place actually blocks blogger... so on the off chance that I wanted to have a break during lunch... could not even post anything.

A couple of big things have happened in this past month... and yes, I do kind of miss the clarity I get when I post my daily tidbits on the blog. At least by keeping this online diary, I was able to log down the little things that happened in my life. The past month, in contrast, seems to have gone by in a hasty blur... and like any pile of overdue work, I just can't seem to imagine myself trying to catch up with all the overdue writing.

Guess besides blogging... kind of miss msning all my friends. For those who have seen me online on occassion, and have been brushed off by me... really sorry, but I don't actually have a cubicle of my own no more, am often in discussions with clients... and so have no choice but to cut all conversations short. There are a few special people whom msn in my main source of communication... really hope that this does not mean that we will start to drift... but then again, any relationship takes two to clap.

Just attended a course on writing dynamics, boy do I need to brush up on my report writing... interestingly enough, after years of "number" studies, my new job is all about words. Have not seriously seen any financial statements... what a refreshing thought. My old colleagues should kind of be over their peak by now... hopefully, they survived the year end unscathed.

Well, have sort of been scrambling to rearrange my life according to the new demands of work and other things. Need to sort of settle soon... and find time to blog yet again. For now, need to figure out how to charge time for the last two weeks... and to get the bug out of my Excel. :)
